Major record labels like Sony ME, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group are all part of an oligopoly as they are the "Big Three" owners of the music industry, as they also own several smaller record labels.
The three largest are Epic Records, Columbia Records and RCA.

Sony is a castle industry as it has many different branches; Finance, Music, Movie and Electronics.
As they deal with many areas they usually cross-promote so Will Smith in the movie Men in Black was promote by Sony as an actor/singer as he sang the soundtrack.

Universal Music Group (UMG) is a global music which was founded in 1934 as Decca Records but was then bought over by MCA Music Entertainment Group and in 1996 was renamed to UMG which in 2006 was bought over by Vivendi as it now one of its subsidiaries.
Universal music group has many subsidiaries as it is the biggest competitor in the music industry; Their biggest labels are:

Acision is also part of Access Industry as it is the market leader in mobile communications.
