My group and I decided to do some extra primary research, as it would only benefit our music video. By asking people open questions rather than giving out questionnaire, we got a better insight of what age people were, as well as what some parents thought about Rihanna. We tried to read their body language and facial expressions to help us find out more about the artist we had chosen.This allowed us to, find out what our target audience would or would not like in our video, and what audience we should target.
We found out that an older audience were also likely to enjoy Rihanna's song; but her sense of style did not make her a good role model for the lower school students.
This source of primary research has helped us to find some important factors to include in the planning of our music video; the sexuality portrayed by Rihanna in her video, will help in targeting even wider male audience. As her video is too sexy, it won't be targeted at adolescents, as this might be a bad influence on them.
Rihanna also portrays herself as a powerful woman, so it is important for us to show our power and authority, which we intend to use over the male sex in our music video.
This post shows a good understanding of why interviews are important to include, especially when considering a target audience.
